Storm Owns

I was in a pretty odd mood today, might write about it sometime if it isn’t just apeshit retarded.

X-Men Legends 2 and Nightwish fixes that though. Played about an hour and a half of XML2 and it’s pretty solid, I’m not getting too into character progression and I can’t seem to switch my squad out (Cyclopes + Storm combos are the only thing keeping that guy from getting nuked.) but overall it’s a nice diversion.

Nightwish… how I missed you, the live version of Elvenpath is something special indeed, actually the whole live album rocks hard. I’d love to hear some of their newer stuff like Planet Hell or Dark Chest of Wonders (both off of Once) live, or hell… even a new live album (they were on tour pretty recently, just not in the US, well I think they did a couple East Coast shows, but the tour looked very European if I remember right) would be nice. But Nightwish and the Gundam SEED Complete Best OST (yeah, Metal and Japanese Pop/Techno, weirdness) are doing great work on the ears.

I should probably be heading to sleep, but may play more XML2 if not SWG (curl-up-in-ball-ness interfered with decorating you see).

Komm, süsser Tod

Komm, süsser Tod (End of Evangelion OST) is a pretty screwed up song. [Ed's Note: Got caught up in reading through my AIM logs with Kyo, now I just feel like curling into a ball. I'll finish this later or something.]

Decoration was always her department.

Mine was making crap like Metal Staves or Pleated Skirts en masse by hand so she could work her magic, heh.

Anyway, setting up my shop in Hell’s Kitchen now (behind the shuttleport) and I’ve really been looking at how Kyo did the Theatre and how she was planning to do her house. She really was quite amazing as a decorator, so I’m taking a bit of what she’s done as inspiration. Combining the brown Cafe Table with the same End Table to form a counter is one of those things that should look quite nice.

Right now I’m planning to have two sets of vendors, one vendor behind a glass table (the loot schematic one) which’ll have sort of a black/white basics vendor. Another three vendors are going to be behind that counter I was talking about before. I’m debating how to split it up, one backpacks/accessories for sure though.

Male/Female is the obvious split, but I’m thinking more along the lines of Dress/Formal and Field, but that field vendor would be a bit redundant considering the black/white vendor would mainly be field-y stuff. Honestly, not too sure, and I may visit some vendors around seeing how they do it. Having a quick essentials vendor is something I don’t see done too often, but I can remember just wanting that damn black Twi’lek Lekku Wrap and getting out of there. That’s also the big reason why I label my clothes pretty simply, this is actually the most complex my stuff gets…

Terrain Neg. Formfitting Undershirt [Black] [4 Sockets]

C++ psudeocode would go here if code wasn’t such a bitch, ugh.

I’ve been really thinking about adding a name to the clothing, probably a simple “by Alynna’” at the end, since I LOATH people naming their stuff at the front.

Anyway… back to decorating!

Bleach 58

Just finished watching Bleach 58 (Lunar‘s sub) and well… a) it rocked hard, and b) Ichigo seems to be a dead ringer for Dan from Life of Riley.

For those not familar with LoR (and to jog my own memory actually), Dan has three stages, 1, 2, and 3. Dan 1 (his normal stage) is that of the artist, very much a right-brain (creativity, holisticness) kinda guy. Stage 2 he’s sort of in the middle, using part of his left-brain for mathmatical calculations, the “artist-tech”. At Stage 3, he’s a full blown mathematical conduit, all left-brain (anaylsis, logic) and really powerful (the conduit part comes from him being a conduit to Source, i.e. God). As he shifts over toward rational thought he increases in power.

There was also this storyline about him fighting Evil Dan, who’s stages were the opposite. As a conduit, Evil Dan was the very essence of imagination, if he thought it up, it happened.

This sort of progression from one style to another while increasing in power is the same sort of thing Ichigo is doing, while Byakuya’s and Abarai ‘s bankai are natural progressions of their shikai (only one’s I can think of both their forms right now), Ichigo’s is completely different visually, let’s break him down Dan-style.

Stage 1 (from gaining Rukia’s power to his defeat by Byakuya, can be considered unreleased): A massive sword, and while there was some spirt force discharge it wasn’t controlled. He was all sword, power.

Stage 2 (“new” huge-ass hiltless form, actually his shikai): Massive sword still, but he has a solid shunpo. His attack is still brute-force spirt-force discharge with the Getsuga Tenshou, but it’s aimable now. Power and Speed.

Stage 3 (bankai): Traditional sword now, but simply overwhelming speed, faster then even Byakuya can keep up with. How fast is he compared to Shunsui (8th Captain) or even Yoruichi? Don’t know, but Byakuya seemed pretty damn fast so he’s got to be up there No spirt-force discharge yet, but there’s always ep. 59 :) . Seems like all speed.

That sort of oddball-ness of huge-ass unreleased and small bankai makes sense for Ichigo considering he’s the lead and all. Overall, his more augmentation-based approach rather then bankai hebbie-jebbie will make for some downright fun fights. Gonna remind me a lot of Shadow of Colossus screenshots, heh.

They wanna kill non-coms I swear…

GCW: New Galactic Civil War Point System

In this publish, we are adding a new Galactic Civil War Point System. Both Rebels and Imperials can earn Planetary Control Points for their side in the war by killing both Rebel and Imperial NPCs and factionally declared players.

Standings in the Galactic Civil War will now be based on the total amount of planetary control points your side has in the war for each of the current planets under contention. The planets on which you can earn points for your side in the war are Corellia , Naboo and Tatooine . Again, each of these three planets will have a different point total.

GCW: Gaining and Losing Points in the War

  • You must be declared Overt to earn these points.
  • Killing 25 NPC Rebels and Imperials will earn your side 1 point for the planet you are fighting on.
  • Each factioned player (Rebel and Imperial) you kill will earn your side 1 point for the planet you are fighting on.
  • The point scores for each planet will decay an unrevealed percentage every day, so you will need to remain active in the war to maintain the standings for your chosen side.

GCW: Checking the Planetary Control Score

There are “News Net” Terminals placed in Starports on Corellia, Naboo and Tatooine that players can use to determine who is winning the war on the planet they are currently on. Rebels and Imperials can to determine the actual score by speaking with a Faction Recruiter.

  • Spawns for Faction Bases are going to be temporarily disabled while we revaluate their overall role in the Galactic Civil War

- Update Notes: November 19th

This is starting to get really old. They keep making non-combatants (Traders / Entertainers) less and less useful and valued in SWG. First, they lump all non-coms into two of the nine professions, then they make a combatant less valuable when changing classes, then they remove the non-combatant’s role from the GCW completely. In addition, player-made items keep getting more and more marginalized, it’s sick.

Originally, a non-combatant could “contribute to the war effort” by buying faction points thru Smugglers. This was also available to combat characters, but they could also just kill for them as well. Then, those points could be used for bases (of varying size and type) that would contribute to the overall control of the planet. Thus, a powerful and rich non-com could essentially fund the entire war (which I understand is the case of the Rebels in SW canon) while the combatants fought it. Now, they’re useless as its all based on farming mindlessly… /cheer!

Here’s the thread on the GCW Forum where no one gives two shits about non-coms.

I’m really beside myself at the moment as they just keep gutting my game to shreds…
